Overview
Lady's Not for Burning
Quick Reference
A verse drama by C. Fry (perf. 1948, pub. 1949). Set in 1400, it introduces Jennet Jourdemayne, young, beautiful, and accused of witchcraft, to world‐weary ex‐soldier Thomas Mendip. They fall in love and all ends happily. Its lively wordplay made it one of the most enjoyable and successful works of the post‐war revival of verse drama.
