John Dos Passos
(1896—1970) American novelist
American novelist. His first important novel, Three Soldiers (1921), which has war as its subject, was followed by many others including Manhattan Transfer (1925) and U.S.A. (1938), a trilogy composed of The 42nd Parallel (1930), 1919 (1932), and The Big Money (1936). He also wrote poetry, plays, essays, travel books, and memoirs.
