Overview

defoliant

Quick Reference

An herbicide that selectively kills plants with broad leaves, used in conifer forests to eliminate so-called weed trees that compete for nutriment. Several varieties are widely used as domestic and agricultural weed killers. They are artificially manufactured plant hormones. Some contain dioxins as contaminants and thus may be an occupational hazard for agricultural workers.
