An outstanding comic book for children, written and illustrated by the Australian artist and novelist Norman Lindsay (1879–1969). Bunyip Bluegum, a koala bear, sets off to see the world. He takes up with Bill Barnacle, a sailor, and his companion Sam Sawnoff, ‘the penguin bold’, who are journeying through Australia in company with a steak and kidney pudding that can walk and talk, delights to be eaten, and is ‘a cut-an’-come-again Puddin’’ that magically makes itself whole whenever a slice has been removed.... ...
