...Sunderland, Abraham Stansfield ( 1800–55 ), the Keighley organist who taught the young Brontës music on their small cabinet piano, from about late 1833 when it was acquired, at least until the end of 1834 ( Diary Paper of 24 November 1834 , signed by Emily and Anne ) when Charlotte gave him one of her drawings (Alexander and Sellars, pp. 209–10). He also gave Branwell flute and organ lessons, the flute lessons possibly beginning as early as 1828 since Branwell wrote an early story on music manuscript paper at this date (Neufeldt BB Works , 1. 2)....
