Overview

sjuzet

Quick Reference

[syuu‐zhet]

The term used in Russian Formalism to denote the plot of a narrative work, as opposed to the events of its story (called the fabula). The sjuzet is the finished arrangement of narrated events as they are presented to the reader, rather than the sequence of such events as reconstructed in their ‘true’ sequence and duration.
