Way, road, path. Used in the Quran over 150 times in reference to correct belief and behavior—the right way, the way of God, the path upon which one struggles for the sake of God. May consist of spiritual discipline, altruistic works, scholarship, or warfare. Jihad is often described as a struggle on sabil Allah (the path of God).
