Quick Reference

Grenadine is a sweet, thick, deep red syrup made from pomegranates (and, nowadays, various other things). It is used in cocktails and other mixed drinks, and also as a drink on its own, well diluted with water (known in France as a grenadine). The word comes from French, where it was originally a derivative of grenade, ‘pomegranate’.
