examination terminology
Quick Reference
Traditionally termed ‘rubric’, examination terminology refers to the instructions to candidates found in examination papers. An ability to understand and comply with these instructions is obviously essential to the candidate's successful performance, and a failure to notice or comprehend them could seriously disadvantage the candidate involved. For this reason, many secondary schools now include guidance on examination terminology in their preparation of pupils for the public examinations such as the General Certificate of Secondary Education and the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level.
