English playwright whose Empress of Morocco (c.1673) has an Epilogue burlesquing the production of the witch scenes in William Davenant's adaptation of Macbeth as performed at Dorset Garden Theatre, London, in 1673. His The Mock-Tempest, or The Enchanted Castle (1674) is a full-scale burlesque of the production, also at the Dorset Garden Theatre, of Shadwell's operatic version of The Tempest.
