A genus of plants, many of which are in cultivation for their fruit: sweet orange is C. sinensis, sour (or Seville) orange C. aurantium, grapefruit C. paradisi, lemon C. limon, lime C. aurantiifolia, and there are others. The leaves are simple, the stalk often winged. The fruit is a hesperidium. There are about 16 species, native to South-east Asia.
