The acceptable amount for which the experimental therapy may be worse than the control therapy and still be noninferior to the control therapy. Typically, the non-inferiority margin is based on a systematic review of the effect of the control therapy, so that the experimental therapy would be regarded as beneficial and/or efficacious should the effect of the experimental therapy be greater than the difference in the effect of the control therapy and the non-inferiority margin.... ...
