The sequence in which combustion occurs in the cylinders of a multi-cylinder piston engine. For petrol engines this is achieved by sequencing sparking of the spark plugs. For a Diesel engine it is the sequence of fuel injection. Vibration can be minimized by appropriate choice of firing order.... ...
