Pattaya, Thailand. First opened in the mid 1990s as an attraction for tourists visiting the popular beach resort of Pattaya, on the Gulf of Thailand, this has developed into one of the most impressive collections of tropical plants in the country. The owner has gathered them from many places, including South-East Asia, Australia, Hawaii, South America, and the West Indies, and, at one time or another, has brought in foreign experts to advise on their cultivation. The beautifully maintained garden covers a very large site near the sea and is divided into a number of sections, each devoted mainly to a certain species.
