Eritrean anticolonial figure, was one of the more complex and dynamic figures in Eritrea’s armed struggle for independence against Ethiopia. Osman Salih Sabbe served for more than two decades as a political organizer and fundraiser throughout the Middle East and the Horn of Africa. However, by the end of his life, Eritrea’s principal nationalist organizations, particularly the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF), disowned him as an opportunist and downplayed his contributions to the struggle.... ...
