A not-for-profit organization that mainly works on behalf of writers to ensure that they receive money when their work is used or copied. The ALCS locates and collects money for secondary uses of work, for example: for photocopying, digital reproduction, educational recording, using IT systems, and working through worldwide agreements with other societies. The society also campaigns to ensure that writers’ rights are recognized and rewarded both nationally and worldwide.... ...
