Extreme sport participants produce various forms of media to share images and ideas, and communicate with their peers in global and local contexts. Niche magazines, websites, and videos—mostly produced by participants of the extreme sport—target particular cohorts of extreme sports enthusiasts. These media help produce and reproduce the young male-dominated cultures at the core of skateboarding, snowboarding, and other extreme sports.
