The natural environment and sports have an enormous influence on one another. Sports vary widely in how the sport influences the environment, and how the environment influences the sport. In most sports, significant attention is given to altering and/or controlling the environment so that it has minimum effect on the sport. Sports have drawn the interest of the environmental movement which seeks to control damage caused by sports and sports facilities by encouraging “green” and sustainable practices. ...
