In-line skating, also known as rollerblading, is a modern variety of roller skating using skates in which the wheels are arranged in single rows, thus producing more speed and agility. It enjoyed much popularity as a fitness activity and method of transportation in the 1990s, but has declined in popularity since then. Most people participate for its fitness benefits but in-line skating is also a competitive sport.
