BASE jumping, also known as “fixed object jumping,” is an extreme sport in which participants jump—using a parachute—fromBuildings, Antennas, Spans (bridges), andEarth (cliffs and other rock formations). BASE jumpers have a far smaller margin for error than do skydivers, who employ back-up parachutes in case the primary parachute malfunctions.
