Often called Muirenn/ Murna of the White Neck in English texts. Mother of Fionn mac Cumhaill who bore her son after the death of his father, Cumhall. Descendant of Nuadu Airgetlám, Muirenn was the daughter of Tadg mac Nuadat, who opposed her marriage to Cumhall and had him killed. Her sister is Uirne, mother of Bran (2) and Sceolang. Hera in Greek mythology is also known for her white neck.
