Anthony van Laast
(b Bognor Regis, 31 May 1951)
British dancer and choreographer. He studied at the London School of Contemporary Dance (1968–70) and performed with London Contemporary Dance Theatre (1971–80), after which he became one of the UK's leading choreographers for musical theatre, working on Song and Dance (1981), Candide (1987), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1991), Jesus Christ Superstar (1998), Mama Mia! (1999), and Bombay Dreams (2002), among others. He has also choreographed for theatre and opera, including The Mikado (English National Opera, 1985) and in 2010 directed the street dance spectacle Blaze.
