World Trade Organization Homepage of the World Trade Organization, the UN sponsored body which regulates international trade. The site contains news and statistics from the WTO, as well as a defence of its workings and policies and a moderated discussion forum.

Political Information.com A search engine with access to over 5,000 politics websites and offering the latest news from around the world. The idea is to provide more useful, targeted search results than those returned by general, non-specific search engines. It is useful for conducting research on particular issues.

BBC News - Country Profiles The BBC's country profiles are a guide to the history, politics and economic background of countries. They also include audio and video clips from the BBC archives.

Resources for Geographers Maintained by the Department of Geography at the University of Colorado at Boulder, this site is an exceptionally wide-ranging online source of information for geographers. Amnesty International Annual Report Amnesty International produces an annual report on its work and concerns. The 2004 report documents the human rights situation in 155 countries and territories; it is available online along with reports from previous years.

Foreign and Commonwealth Office This is the website of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK government. Here you can find out about the work and objectives of the FCO, as well as access up-to-date travel advice and detailed regional and country profiles.

Country Studies - Library of Congress Country Studies is produced by the Federal Research Division of the US Library of Congress. It presents a detailed analysis of social, economic, and political systems of countries around the world; however, it focuses on ‘lesser-known’ areas and does not include most Western nations.

Australian Bureau of Statistics This is the website of Australia's official statistical organization. Here you can follow a quick link to ‘Popular Statistics’, including a ‘population clock’; you can also explore census information or view statistical information by region.
