Shepard, E. H. (Ernest Howard) (1879–1976) English painter, cartoonist, and illustrator, 

known chiefly for A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh (1926), Now We Are Six (1927), The House at Pooh Corner (1928), and K. Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows (1931). He drew cartoons for Punch from 1921, eventually as lead cartoonist.
