Colin Larkin, editor

Music expert Colin Larkin compiled and edited the Encyclopedia, drawing on a long career spent writing about music that began in 1967. In the 1970s he wrote for the fanzine Dark Star and attempted to find songwriting success with his band, Closer Than Most. He formed Square One Books in 1990 to publish music-related books and to realize his dream of a multi-volume Encyclopedia of Popular Music. Mr. Larkin sold his company to Muze in 1997, and remains the full-time Editor-in-Chief of EPM. He lives in Suffolk, England.
